Nikon APS-C Clip-In Adapter for 36mm Astro Filters
The only company making clip-in filters for Nikon APS-C cameras is STC, and those tend to vignette, cost a lot, and require bending metal to install. This is a clip-in adapter for an unmounted 36mm UV/IR-cut filter, designed to use with a full-spectrum-converted Nikon D5300, though it should fit other Nikon APS-C bodies too. It works with Nikkor lenses and doesn't vignette an f/2.8 lens; faster lenses like an f/2 might vignette some. Before shooting, check without the filter installed that the shutter has full freedom of movement with the clip-in in place, blocking the shutter won't break it immediately but can cause damage and nasty horizontal vignetting. Works with unmounted 36mm filters, such as a UV/IR-cut filter for full-spectrum work, or a duoband filter for narrowband astrophotography with a one-shot-color camera.
