The open-source home for DIY photography
OpenCameraLab collects camera mods, hardware projects, calculators, and utilities in one place, and keeps all of it free and open. No paywalls, no accounts, no gimmicks.
Why it exists
Great DIY photography knowledge is scattered across forums, old blog posts, and threads that disappear over time. OpenCameraLab started as a way to bring the best of that knowledge, infrared conversions, lens adapters, 3D-printable rigs, exposure math, into a single, well-organized, and permanent place.
What's here
Projects
Step-by-step guides for camera mods, infrared conversions, 3D-printable adapters, and other DIY photography hardware.
Calculators
Free tools for exposure, depth of field, hyperfocal distance, and more.
Utilities
Browser-based tools like an EXIF reader and shutter count checker, no install required.
Who's behind it
OpenCameraLab is founded and maintained by Domenico Caldesi, a photographer, and is built in the open with help from the community.
Open by design
Projects and guides on this site are meant to be shared, remixed, and improved. If you've got a build, a fix, or an idea worth adding, there's a place for it here.
