M42-4-E-Var — Focusing M42 to E-Mount Adapter

A focusing M42-screwmount to Sony E-mount lens adapter that also works as a variable extension tube. It's a multi-part print — “mount”, “spacer”, “outer”, “inner”, “grip_and_retainer”, and four “tabs” — that takes some post-processing and assembly time (roughly 46g of filament total), but has held up to over a year of daily use in testing.

What you'll need

  • 3D printer
  • M42-thread lens
  • Sony E-mount camera body
Suggested material: PLA or similar rigid filament. Multi-part assembly — expect some post-processing and fitting time after printing all the parts.
