
DSLR Shoulder Rig
A shoulder rig for stabilizing DSLR video, designed around the industry-standard 15mm aluminum rod spacing so the printed parts can mix with commercially available rig hardware. The kit includes a camera plate, rod clamps (single and dual-parallel), a shoulder pad support in two widths, an angled handle holder/guide set (0° and ±30°), a strap clip, and a mount plus clamp for a Zoom H4n audio recorder. All parts were designed in OpenSCAD; the source files are on the original Thingiverse page if you want to customize dimensions.
What you'll need
- 3D printer
- 15mm aluminum rod stock (industry-standard spacing)
- M3/M4 screws and nuts for the clamps (see original page for the full hardware list)
Suggested material: PLA or ABS. Print solid, rigid settings — these parts clamp onto metal rod and need to hold their shape under load.
