Disposable Camera Lens Adapter

Disposable cameras are cheap, plentiful, and their plastic lenses are surprisingly fun on a real camera. Pull the lens out of the housing, print a holder, and mount it on a Sony E-mount body with a bit of glue. A single lens gives roughly 35mm (full frame) or 50mm (APS-C); two disposable cameras combined into the double-lens assembly give 17mm (full frame) or 26mm (APS-C).

What you'll need

  • 3D printer
  • Sony E-mount camera
  • One or two disposable cameras (for the plastic lens)
  • Black filament
  • Glue
Suggested material: Black filament (PLA or similar). Print in black to keep stray light out of the lens path.
